Welsh 3000s 24Hr Challenge – The King of Challenges!

27th June 2023

Join us for 2023’s event … Climbing all 14 of Wales’ mountains in one day.

Doing the Welsh 3000s in a single day is one of Britain’s toughest 24 hour challenge walks requiring fitness, stamina and determination: it makes the “Three Peaks” a mere training exercise for the children. The day will start at around 0400 commencing our day’s challenge with the infamous Crib Goch. This knife-edge ridge* will be the first of our fourteen Welsh 3000s . . . From here it’s two more (including Snowdon) before descending back to the valley for breakfast.

Breakfast complete, the group will head en-masse up Elidir Fawr (“Big Elidir”). People will naturally break down into 2 or 3 teams by pace at this point and so onwards to climb these next 5 summits before dinner is served in the Ogwen Valley. Tired legs, and a positive spirit will carry you over the final leg of your journey with the six summits of the Carneddau before you get to your waiting carriage.

*For people with a fear of heights we do have an alternative option that involves bypassing this one summit, but detracts nothing from the overall challenge.

Price per person: £194

  • Fresh leaders for different phases
  • Breakfast and dinner
  • Transport and logistic support locally in the area

… and if you manage to complete this mighty challenge inside one magnificent journey and taking no more than 24 hours you’ll be eligible for a certificate. For details of this and how to join the list of finishers see www.14peaks.com.

Note: You need good fitness, mental robustness and a good head for heights too.
