Whether you like to ride smooth flowing routes gliding and swerving through the trees, or giving yourself a proper bruising epic careering down gnarly boulder-strewn tracks: the Peak District has many a gem on offer to everyone of all experience levels. With a local qualified mountain bike leader you can be sure to sample the best that this area has to offer whilst at the same time, if you choose, learning some new skills too.
The Peak District: a park of two halves
Dark Peak mountain biking offers the classic rides and test-pieces. This is the place to bike if you’re looking specifically for more of a challenge, with plenty of infamous long rocky gritstone descents such as Potato Gully, Jacob’s Ladder, Devil’s Elbow and the Beast, to name but a few, that will really test your nerve and skills in equal measure.
The White Peak, with its converted railways and quieter country lanes is well suited for families or gravel rides, with trails offering an abundance of near-perfect cross country rides. The hills are never too steep or high and the descents are kind (with some noteworthy exceptions).
Think about what you want to get from a day out, mountain biking with us, and we’ll come back to you with some options that are perfect for you.
